Yachiyo Basic Environmental Policy
Yachiyo has promoted pro-environmental activities through the following basic environmental policy and conduct guidelines. In addition, individual policies are established and activities are carried out at each place of business.
Basic Environmental Policy
As a responsible member of society, We actively attempt to preserve and improve the global environment through all of our corporate activities towards the realization of a sustainable society.
Guidelines for Action
- (1) We aim to reduce environmental burden/load and prevent environmental pollution by being more conscious about the global environment and continuously improving our environmental challenges of our business activities, products and service.
- (2) We aim to cut back on energy and resource consumption as well as resources recycling through all of our corporate activities.
- (3) We aim to reduce and properly dispose wastes and pollutants which are generated at each stage of our business activities.
- (4) We aim to become a company that is valued by society through active involvement in improving activities of global environment.

Environmental Management System
In order to further speed up our environmental efforts as the Yachiyo Group, we have established a system in which all business offices are directly connected, with the aim of strengthening cooperation with the manager in charge of environment and the secretariat.
A general manager and a promotion manager are assigned to each business site, and at overseas business sites, the president of the local subsidiary is the general manager.

Environmental Beautification Activities
We want to always keep the local area that supports our business activities beautiful. Through regular cleaning activities, we not only contribute to the beautification of the local environment, but also repeatedly learn the importance of protecting the global environment.
Donation of CO2 Credits
In cooperation with Saitama Prefecture's "Zero Carbon Saitama" initiative, we donated 18,556 tons of excess CO2 (carbon dioxide) credits to Saitama Prefecture, and received a letter of appreciation from Saitama Prefecture.
All mercury lights were switched to LED lights at the Kameyama Branch, Suzuka Plant.
In May 2013, all 197 mercury lights in the Kameyama Branch, Suzuka Plant were switched to LED lights in order to cut down power consumption and reduce CO2 emissions. This reduces the amount of CO2 used by 97.0 tons per year, which is approximately the same as the amount of CO2 absorbed by 2,000 ten-meter tall trees.
Effective Use of Resources “Core Eco Project”
We collect used adhesive tape cores within our company and donate them to "Ikaw・Ako", an environmental NGO engaged in mangrove planting projects. The collected cores are used to purchase mangrove seedlings and plant trees locally. The project started in 2011, and in March 2012, we received a letter of appreciation from them.
